Those godless geophysicists

This is the most hilarious thing I've seen in a long time.

I took this picture outside of the American Geophysical Union fall meeting yesterday, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This guy was actually standing on top of a milk crate, pointing fingers at all of the attendees walking in and out and calling us all sinners, specifically because we deny that the earth was created in 7 days. The best part was that dozens of us were all crowding around, ignoring him but smiling and taking pictures. I guess everyone was excited that we had our first protester!

The sad part is that he was a much better public speaker than many of the people presenting there.

That's absolutely hilarious! (Yes, I know I'm stealing your word, but it's the right word. :) ) I'm glad to see that at least some of the creationists out there are reaching out beyond their usual evolutionary biology focus to protest the other areas of science that they claim are Satan's work. I wonder if cosmology conferences get these people? Astronomy? Nuclear physics? Genetic algorithms? Maybe they'll show up at a string theory conference sometime so I can take pictures, too. :)

Well preachers are supposed to be good public speakers. Most scientists have other priorities such as research and all that science stuff they do that's going to send them to hell.

I am also impressed that the guy didn't misspell "geophysicists" on his sign. Better sign-making skills than many of his brethren.
