| In-flight Wireless Internet access |

I'm posting this from seat 23H on a Lufthansa flight from JFK to Munich! Is that cool or what? It's Boeing's new Connexion service, which offers pretty fast wireless Internet access. I think first and maybe business class get it for free; the rest of us pay $10/hr or $30/flight. Considering how much the plane ticket cost, it seems worth it to me. It's not just crippled web access, either - I'm chatting with two people via AIM right now, too! The latency if fine.
Anyway, this is a fun way to start off the European portion of my vacation. I will be posting pictures and stories later. |

Yeah, that sounds pretty reasonable given the cost of a flight and all. Pretty soon reasonably priced wireless will be available everywhere in the world but right here in the US. :)
Have a great trip! :-D
If you get a chance while in Munich, see the Deutsches Museum! It's the largest, and best science & technology museum in the world. The exhibit on early computing is extensive; I also wouldn't miss Bergbau (mining technology). There are also scenic views out of its windows, overlooking the town and river. Visitors Info: http://www.deutsches-museum.de/info/allgem/e_infoal.htmIf you want to see swans in a park, try the The English Garden. And here's the music schedule for the Hofbraeuhaus Muenschen, the most famous beer hall in Germany! Viel Spass beim Reisen :-)
I can concur on the Deutches Museum - I was just there a couple weeks ago. It's hugemongous! You can easily spend all day there if you want. The gigantic steam turbines are impressive, and I have a soft spot for the IBM System/360 they have since it was designed by my advisor.
